All the time, this shit. I got a promotion at work recently, and I texted my mom the news, and she texted back PGFWABF. I looked it up, and it means "Praise God from whom all blessings flow." I have generally allowed my parents to say shit like "we're praying for you" and "God is great," etc without responding. But I blew up on her. How disrespectful is that shit? Praise god for my promotion? How about, "You worked really hard, you deserve it." Fuck that shit.

I hate it when someone attributes good news to "the lawd". Praise you for rocking your fucking work like a boss and getting promoted.

I have the same issue with people insisting on saying a blessing before a meal at Thanksgiving, Christmas, or some other holiday. Don't thank the lord for that food, thank me for getting up at 5 AM and putting a ham in the oven!

Try doing anything in the arts. All talent is a "gift from god."

The fact that beyond genetics, it's most a lot of work, just the same as any other field of human endeavor seems to miss people. Unfortunately those people are usually potential customers so delivering a lecture about not attributing art to god would be shooting myself in the foot.
