Sounds a bit like the "Bram Stoker's Dracula" party boardgame, in which players are sent off to hide while vampire players try to get them. This seems a tad more complex but I'd love to give it a go if I can get my head around the rules.

MAFIA

I'm not going to do a specific theme for the first game. Each player will play themselves and will be given a standard mafia role. I will post a list of roles that could be used but I won't list which roles actually were used until the end of the game. They will just be standard roles for this game, though. We can get into some more exciting and even maybe some made up just by Losty type roles once everyone actually knows how to play.

This game will include: Mafia, Townies, and may or may not include an independent role.

Rules

•There are 2 phases: Day and Night.
•Day Phase begins at 10am EST (3pm GMT) and will End at 10pm EST (3am GMT).
•Night Phase will Begin at 10pm EST (3am GMT) and will end at 10am EST (3pm GMT).
•No Screenshots of Any kind.
•No copypasta of any messages from the Moderator.
•During the day phase vote for whomever you wish to see lynched, or vote no lynch.
•Votes Must be submitted in bold.
•Vote changes Must be submitted in a new post.
•No editing of any posts is allowed.
•No Gag, open banter
•Once you are dead you may no longer influence the game in any way.

My friends and I used to play this game in the summer IRL, albeit as the werewolf variation... We used cards to give roles and it was like the most fun we had for an entire summer.

You can count me in. Abso-fucking-lutely.

Well, if we get a subforum I will be able to do that, but for now I just have to repost the OP every time I want to do an update because you can't edit a post after like 1-2 hours on here.
Of course in any game the mod would be allowed to edit posts only the players wouldn't. I will repost the updated OP now and when the game starts I will repost it at the end of every day and night phase. Hopefully we will get to have a subforum specifically for mafia and there I would be able to edit any posts made by myself or other players for an unlimited amount of time. Until then we just make do

Just an announcement: the game has been moved to the Mafia sub-forum. I will be making an About Mafia thread and a Waiting List thread where you can sign up to mod your own game if you wish.
I will also make a Rules thread which you may want to check regularly for updates.
