OK Min, you mean believing the new priesthood?
It is not the newest fairy tale around but it sure is popular. I used to think I was smart, then that blew out over time, but have become very content in my dumbness. Kinda goes with the view of, the foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men. Tonus, I usually forget this generation was indoctrinated in a concept of there being no objective truth. However, the person with an experience is not in the same category as one with merely a theory. Drich put that very well in a recent post. Poca, I see nothing wrong with the beginning statement of Genesis, it is totally concise. Either creation is the result of a supernatural "Nature" or it is the result of a supernatural "Mind". Long ago, I chose the thought process. Exian, have you ever notice the phraseology we use? Why does someone use words like "I'll be damned" at all? Are we being influenced to use our words against ourselves? Why is the name of Jesus used as an adjective? Isn't it interesting that nobody uses the name of Mohammed or his god like that. Commandment #2, I think, was- you shall not take the name of the Lord in a useless way. Why is it the only name of a deity taken vainly is Jesus Christ? To me, it is really good to ask Why, now, when it comes to God we do not have to "Follow the money" to find out "Why" but with men's activity, follow the money is as accurate as Genesis one.
Welp, that's the first time I've heard the term "Supernatural Nature"
In every country and every age, the priest had been hostile to Liberty.

Look, I realize it's much easier to believe in a delusion if you pretend that the only other choice is even worse, but that's not the reality of the situation. This isn't a choice between one person's experience and someone else's theory. It's a choice between what we are being asked to take on faith with what can and will be tested. The latter might be confirmed, modified, or even rejected as a result. The former cannot be confirmed or modified, and to the believer it is a mortal sin to reject it. In other words, you were indoctrinated to believe that there are objective truths and told not to question them, lest you risk your eternal soul. The other guy questioned them and realized that they're a load of tripe. Your response is to stick your fingers in your ears and ask us to trust you. Sorry prof, but I'm with the other guy.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

"How is it that a lame man does not annoy us while a lame mind does? Because a lame man recognizes that we are walking straight, while a lame mind says that it is we who are limping." - Pascal
How could so few working brain cells support such elaborate delusions?
Quote:OK Min, you mean believing the new priesthood? Hey, shithead. Look at the thread title. These people are out there WORKING to learn. They do not sit on their stupid fucking asses like religious fucktards ( look in a mirror for an example) and pretend they have all the answers because a bunch of goat herders 3,000 years ago started making up absurd stories. We don't need more assholes like you. We need more scientists like them. Can their conclusions be premature? Can they be superseded by later findings? Absolutely. That is what science does. They do not sit there and insist that they have all the answers already because some non-existent "god" told them. . There are already too many of you stupid leeches around for humanity's good. Go fuck yourself. RE: Science Keeps Working

These are the "scientists" and "science" that have flown humans to the moon and our probes outside the solar system. That have discovered hundreds of extra solar planets. That has eradicated smallpox, is close to doing the same to polio (if religious idiots wouldn't keep trying to stop them), and has eradicated other viruses. That has given us computers, the internet, and the ability to fly anywhere in the world. What has the bible achieved for us? Nothing, until it's available in 2-ply.
