Translation: Inhofe is a Fucking Idiot

Yes, another word which is entirely misunderstood by the population at large.
At a council meeting here a few months ago, a local pol was asked his feelings on climate change by a resident. The politico answered, 'I'm not a scientist' to which the questioner replied, 'Maybe you should talk to one.'

That makes me shudder to have self proclaimed entirely delusional people in positions of power.
Time to stop this nonsense?
Sorry, Bill Nye, but you're assuming that the media is interested in reporting what the facts are and informing the public. The media, at least in America, doesn't do fact-checking anymore.
Our media has entered into what I believe historians will call "The Age of Solipsism", where they have just decided that reality is up for grabs and all knowledge is just opinion. One side says this and the other side says that. Who can really say what the facts really are? Let's just bring both sides on to each state what they believe and then let the audience decide for themselves.
Atheist Forums Hall of Shame:
"The trinity can be equated to having your cake and eating it too." ... -Lucent, trying to defend the Trinity concept "(Yahweh's) actions are good because (Yahweh) is the ultimate standard of goodness. That’s not begging the question" ... -Statler Waldorf, Christian apologist
Indeed. There's two points of view, so they're both equally likely. Simple maths.

This is a sad commentary on the intelligence of the individuals who put these fools into positions of leadership and power. A fantastic essay by John Erskine entitled "The Moral Obligation to Be Intelligent" comes to mind. In this essay, Erskine argues that each person has a responsibility to be intelligent because one individual's ignorance can and will eventually have unwanted consequences for others. This is an example of just that. We have a scientifically ignorant and superstitious population who elect individuals woefully unfit for any leadership position, let alone a role in the government where they have a voice in shaping public policy. Their ignorance and poor choices stemming from this obliviousness are not only harming us individually; they are harming the planet as a whole because the people they elect are oftentimes as ignorant, superstitious, and suspicious of science and reason as they are.
