Whats so offensive about Christianity

I'm am the one who speak from an position of education and fact, while you speak from sterotypes and myth.

And you feigned incredulity when I referenced your obtuseness in your feedback thread.

Warning! Drich is again going off the rails by redefining slavery to mean any human transaction that might be considered inequitable. Although his intent is to attempt to provide cover for his dipshit slavery condoning god, he actually demonstrates that he considers slavery to be nothing more than a poorly negotiated labor contract.

We now return to regular programming.

You are the ones redefining slavery. I posted a defination from the dictionary! YOU HAVE NOT! Therefore it is you who is projecting your efforts of redefination onto me!

Quote:Slavery refers to a condition in which individuals are owned by others, who control where they live and at what they work.

To be a slave is to be owned by another person. A slave is a human being classed as property and who is forced to work for nothing. An enslaved person is a human being who is made to be a slave.

You idiot, brush up on your History. Slaves bought their freedom through the service they provided to their masters.

Wink Shades

Of course, history also shows that slave owners merely lied, allowing their slaves to believe that they could one day be free through the excellent service they provided; all in order to make them work better and harder.

Not to mention the link I provided also lists out the actual anual compensation of a slave in those times, so there is that. (Documentation that slaves were indeed compensated.)

ROFLOL

This is a picture of slavery in the 1800's.

Why is it that you believe slavery can only have existed then?

If you believe that this is the only valid picture of slavery then you must now reconsile the google defination I provided.

(I did in that the defination still stands, as it not only encompasses the 1800's defination of slavery, it also encompasses modern examples as well.)

Nothing you have blathered on about remotely approaches the definition you provided.
Quote:a person who is the legal property of another and is forced to obey them.

The other lines you posted are examples of using the word slavery as metaphor and are not descriptions of actual conditions of slavery. Do you really not understand this? I am real close to apologizing for considering you impossibly obtuse and concluding that you really are as incredibly fucking stupid as your posts make you out to be.

So I guess you are unaware that in most 'skilled' slave jobs the slave has to sign away years of their lives to get the training needed for the job?

Nor do you seem to be aware that when a imigrant worker seeks employment in some of the bigger plantations, the plantation offers 'housing' for their families. If the slave moves in then the essentually sell themselves to the company because the housing costs exceed what they make, meaning they and their whole family then becomes endentured to the company, until the whole debt is paid back to the company.

For some they have nothing else and no place to go, so this is a good deal for them. For other it means that they are stuck till they can buy themselves free.

Signing away years of one's life seems a great deal akin to general job employment to me.
