Yeah that was what I meant: scapegoating carried to the extreme. Every society have its criminals, it's easy to take the worst from a group and depict the whole group as bad.
And being racist against Germans just because they had Hitler is the same lame way of reasoning. Germany has probably the biggest antifa movement of all Europe, then why should all Germans be depicted as Nazis?

Maybe you insult a German because of Nazism, and then find out that he is an anti-fascist. It's the same principle when they accuse all Arabs of being terrorists, or all blacks to be thieves and murderers in America.

In case you missed it, I wasn't making a point excusing the Nazis of old. I was merely saying that the Holocaust was the result of extremist bigotry.

Also, for the life of me, I couldn't say that anyone made a point of condemning present day Germany in this thread. This would be pretty stupid anyway, since some of us actually are from Austria and Germany.
