What exactly does Satan ever do in the book aside from taking a census? Yahweh and David are the characters doing all the killing, maming and all kinds of perversions.
Still cent imagine how anyone sees that laughable rag as something to live by.
"If a woman lies with a beast, they are to be put to death"
How dare a lustful beast!!! What divine guides these nomadic goat herders are. Sex with animals. Boiling babies....well at least the killing"compassionate" mothers do. LAM 4:10 I think..

Satan is the ultimate scapegoat. God creates him so that he never has to be accountable. Anything bad ever happens, it's satan's fault, or mans fault because someone once ate an apple (way to hold a grudge God.)
We have no information about satan other than what God tells us, and is he likely to give us a fair assessment? What I think is far more likely is satan killed God ages ago and has been impersonating him ever since. He's written the most evil book possible, treats people like absolute shit and still tricks them into worshipping him as the ultimate good. He must be laughing his arse off.
By the way, any argument against the above scenario is countered by the phrase, "But that's exactly what satan would want you to think! Are you saying you're more powerful than a deity and he can't trick you?"

The whole thing is laughable. God "gave" his son... how so? And why would any God be a he?
The dish ran away with the spoon. Same thing.

Oh look, God is just like us except he has magic powers. He even walks around like us in genesis and experiences many human emotions. Then he slowly changes during the story in an unchanging way.
God "sacrificing" his son is about as generous as me gobbing into a charity tin.

I was always shocked by his losing a wrestling match. He named the victor Israel. Then he loses a battle somewhere in the Pentatouch beaue the enemy of his and Israels sacrifices his oldest son.
Its a wonder the nomads that wrote this heep iof .BS didn't get run over by an ox cart while licking their asses in the middle of the path.
You can tell by reading what a barbaric hord of beast loving cannibals they were.
Are you all knowledgable of the bible. I've found Atheists have actually read the sickening collection of cuckoos. Thomas Paine's. Age of Reason is another incredible book.
If I may suggest some great ones...for anyone seeking the truth....
Isaac Asimov- Beginnings, the story of origin. non fiction
Carl Sagan-Demon Haunted World
Thomas Paine-The age of Reason
Richard Dawkins-The Blind Watchmaker
Arthur Strahler- Science and Earth History
C Dennis Mckinsy-The Encyclopedia of Biblical Errancy
I'd love recommendations from you all as well please.

Yeah, and how good could an iron chariot be compared to one made of Kevlar, carbon fibre and titanium ??
We could totally beat god (and the Midianites or the Moabites, or the Klingons) with cool high tech chariots !!!

How do they fail to realize what a small character they make their god?
Again, I'm kin to many and friends with lots of them. But I still submit something in the mental faculties area is just broken or non existent with these people.
Personally, once I had a small reason to evaluate my beliefs they were gone in short order.
The final and fatal body blow to religion for me came from reading the Bible. Its simply s horrible book. Someone here with better skills with text and explanation really nailed it in a reply:
Its like Satan killed God long ago and just floods us with evil. All the while laughing his ass off at the fools thanking and praising him for it.

It never fails to astonish me. It's like their brain has a logic on/off switch, which gets automatically thrown as soon as anyone says "jesus".
And for sure, I doubt many christians have sat down and actually read the bible. You know, properly. Like you'd do with a normal book... I mean if I thought I had the actual word of God, I'd be reading it over and over every chance I got! Not going to some prick in a dress to read it for me and tell me what he thinks it means.
