Proud of what?? Dark-skinned people in the US can have pride that they've endured the bigotry and ignorance from the last two centuries by light-skinned people in this country. What exactly do light-skinned people in particular have to be proud of? Two centuries of the majority being bigoted, ignorant, judgmental, arrogant, and shallow as all fuck? Why the fuck should we be proud of THAT?!

That's evolutionary nonsense. All races were tribal, barbaric nutjobs who fought and stole land. So, in evolutionary terms, it makes no sense at all to be ashamed of our ancestors, because they were all barbarians.

The white pride thing is whites just doing what other races do, and that is protect their own interests. If you're going to get upset about that, then you'll also have to get upset about other races doing it. Being a member of that tribe gives you access to its protection and its ability to command resources by force. It's a very stable and useful structure in human society. War paint might identify your side in a skirmish (like football jerseys.) Skin color can be just another way to tell who's on your side in a fight.

Back MANY years ago, at summer camp, the counselors split us up by eye color and gave each side a few eye shade slurs to yell at each other. We were at each others collective throats by the end of the afternoon. It's really easy to set up. Really hard to suppress.

Hmm...I feel like I'm missing some key information. I have 7 people on my list, 8 including myself. 4 Hispanic people, 3 white people, 1 black person. 4 with blue eyes, 3 with brown eyes, 1 with hazel eyes. 3 are medium height, 2 are tall, 3 are very short but may or may not remain that way. The only way you can identify my tribe as a whole is these are the people I would risk my life to save and the people I trust completely. They're my people because they're mine. Doesn't mean I don't identify with other people for various other reasons. My people are my people because I love them. I don't see that as the same as saying "my people" and meaning all white people. Millions of strangers? The only constant is that they're white? These aren't the people on your side in a fight. If I see a white person and a black person in a fight I am going to back away until I'm at a good distance and then I'm goin to turn and leave. I'm not going to jump in the fight with someone because they're white.
