20 Reasons to Abandon Christianity

Back when I was a kid, they didn't even stress the idea of hell much. I knew it existed, but I felt that's where all the bad people went. I was under the impression that heaven and hell were divided by who was good, and who was bad. Not who said the right words to the right god, and who didn't.

When I was little, I knew nothing about religion at all. My parents didn't attempt to force Jesus down my throat. It was at school when they tried it and they spoke of little else than hell.

So, all my experiences with religion were as follows: none, fear, boredom, don't give a shit, none.

Different christians have different experiences, obviously. I've read stories about people having nightmares about whether or not they'd go to hell. I'm just glad that I lived in a group that was full of moderates at best. Honestly if someone came into town and started saying the kinds of things I've read from fundies on the net, I would think he was insane. Christian organizations are doing all they can to rescue the girls and boys sold into this perverted slavery, they are risking their lives for these children. Today it's the unbelieving world that's responsible for allowing and condoning slavery from child labor to child sex, and you want to condemn us.

Eph. 5:28 .... husbands should love their wives as they love their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it.
Christianity calls for men to have as much respect for women as they would for themselves. On the other hand the secular unbelievers are selling little girls into slavery by the 10s of thousands every year. Christian men and women are trying their best to rescue these girls, the church is spending it's own money to help them, we do not get any assistance from the secular world.
