It's base on the superiority, righteousness, love, sacrifice of God.
Quote:#number two Christianity preys on the innocent
It calls to the guilty, those who desire to be better humans.
Quote:#number three Christianity is based on dishonesty
Can you prove God will not do what He says He will do, you're the one claiming Christianity is dishonest.
Quote:#number four Christianity is extremely egocentric
Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the world.
Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons of God.
Matthew 5:11 Blessed are those when others revile you and utter all kinds of evil against you because of Me.
I can find many more that shows the essence of being a Christian.
Quote:#number five Christianity breeds arrogance
See above verses, again I can find many more to show you do not understand what you have said.
Quote:#number six Christianity breeds authoritarianism
Romans 12:19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves.... :20.... "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if your enemy is thirsty, give him something to drink;...
John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lays down his life for his friends.
Quote:#number seven Christianity is cruel
Matthew 5:5,7,8 and 9.
These words from Jesus show cruelty isn't to be part of the Christian life.
Quote:#number eight Christianity is anti-intellectual
I have posted in many other threads that I know many Christians who are extremely intelligent. Doctorates, Masters Degrees in nuclear engineering, Doctorate, Masters in Geophysics, professors and teachers from college through high school, valedictorians and salutatorians. Just because we do not buy into the deluded notions of a science that started out without any evidence, it was only a story.
Quote:#number nine Christianity has an morbid, unhealthy preoccupation with sex
Christians aren't preoccupied with sex, though most of us enjoy sex, we love to live life with a zest. You apparently haven't read the book of Songs of Solomon.
Quote:#number ten Christianity produced sexual misery
I know hundreds of Christians and I know none that experience nor cause misery in sex. On the flip side I know many unbelievers who complain about their sexual experiences all the time. Worked with more people than I can count that had to call home every hour, because, they were worried about their spouse cheating, those are truly miserable people. The sex slave trade is part of the secular world and the girls and boys that Christian organizations are rescuing from the sex slave trade are truly abused and miserable.
Quote:#number eleven Christianity has an exceedingly narrow view of morality
Exceeding narrow, exactly what is this suppose to mean? We do see most moral issues in black and white and we get our objective understanding of our morals from God, and we do not have a problem with them.
Quote:#number twelve Christianity encourages acceptance of real evils while focusing on imaginary evils
Imaginary evils, I assume you are referring to Satan, I'll say this, death will reveal the truth when it's to late.
Quote:#number thirteen Christianity depreciates the natural world
You got to be kidding, all these companies that are polluting the world are not Christian companies, they are most assuredly secular. We are farmers, responsible hunters and fisherman, hikers, gardeners and we're involved in conservation.
Quote:#number fourteen Christianity models hierarchical, authoritarian organization
The main stream protestant churches have a organized body that sets rules according to each denomination, but these people are elected and will answer to the people of the church. If however you are referring to God, the yes we listen to the omniscient authority of God and try to live it. Go back to the top to see in Matthew some of how we are to live.
Quote:#number fifteen Christianity sanctions slavery
If you're talking about the 19th century back, unfortunately Christians were involved just as much as Thomas Jefferson, but slavery was not exclusive to Christianity, it existed long before Jesus came. The slave traders of the 18th and 19th centuries were buying people from Africa that were already slaves, not all but a great number. Today it's the secular world that supports the largest slave trade in all of history, the sex slave trade. Christian organizations are doing all they can to rescue the girls and boys sold into this perverted slavery, they are risking their lives for these children. Today it's the unbelieving world that's responsible for allowing and condoning slavery from child labor to child sex, and you want to condemn us.
Quote:#numbersixteen Christianity is misogynistic
You're just plain ignorant of Christianity.
Eph. 5:22 Wives submit yourselves to your husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, His body and is himself its Savior.
This verse makes the husband responsible for his wife and family as Christ is for the church.
Eph. 5:25 Husbands love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.
Eph. 5:28 .... husbands should love their wives as they love their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it.
Christianity calls for men to have as much respect for women as they would for themselves. On the other hand the secular unbelievers are selling little girls into slavery by the 10s of thousands every year. Christian men and women are trying their best to rescue these girls, the church is spending it's own money to help them, we do not get any assistance from the secular world.
Quote:#number seventeen]Christianity is homophobic
We believe what God tells us about men and women who go against the natural design of His creation. It is our right to have our opinions on this matter and do what we can to stop the unnatural life style that could effect our children.
Quote:#number eighteen The bible is not a reliable guide to Christ's teachings
Where else would His teachings be, He is the Word.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Quote:#number nineteen The bible is riddle with contradictions
This is only an opinion, there has been efforts for over two thousand years to prove this yet the Bible lives on and is still the #1 selling book in all the world.
Quote:#number twenty Christianity is plagiarism
This is the biggest joke you've presented, God was before anything was created, those other tells are misrepresentations of God's early work with mankind.
This was a very low class attempt at trying to tear down Christianity.
