If you use the quote, you must attribute it. Why not just start a thread with your own wording? That way, everyone is happy, no one is called out, and staff doesn't have to deal with it.

As long as nobody is being put on the spot against their will or being singled out for any reason, I don't see a problem with it. That said, m'colleague becca is quite right.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Yes but the quote may have some useful or rational point of view that was expressed better than I could have. I'm asking this because in other forums it's normal for members to quote some sentences and start a new thread when it's derailing.
But AF is not like every place on the internet and I get that (still the best place on the internet though)

Yeah, I was thinking, "Ha! Don't miss that a bit."

How bout tying the report button to the rep system? That way you might get less whining and the rep system will have some actual use.
Also please consider making some rules about formatting those huge wall-of-texts. Those huge non-formatted pseudo-english posts are driving me nuts.

For what it's worth, I enjoyed my brief stint as moderator, but perhaps its brevity was a factor.

It also would be nice if people edited out images when quoting, or at least used hide tags. Otherwise, the image just gets quoted over and over, and things get ridiculous.
