The GOP are very slick at lying to voters and getting them to vote against their own self interest. This has been what has allowed them to continue trickle up economics while protecting the rich.
Mitt Romney just last week after his 47% int the last election comment basically saying "fuck people who know we are screwing them". started mimicking the democratic line about "the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer".
They know they are losing the narrative and are simply selling another lie to protect the 1%. They know more people are onto their bullshit tactic and just after Joni Ernst's response to the SOTU by Obama, she too talked about stagnant wages, and stupid phony story how she grew up poor.
Dems need to be calling theses assholes out at every turn. We need to also put pressure on other dems to get them to do the same. We have to stop allowing the GOP and propaganda networks like Fox from lying to the public just to keep power.
