Awesome! He is the man. I couldn't have put it better. Stick that up your pipe organ.

RE: Stephen Fry on God
In the United States if someone made a comment similar to Fry's the overall public's reaction would not be positive. People would view him as a jerk even though Fry was being polite. Speaking against Christianity in the US is considered rude. Along with some of the videos that Robovalue posted, I get the impression that criticism of Christianity isn't seen as negatively as it is in the States. Is that true?

I'm not sure exactly how well it goes down, but I could be pretty confident you'd get far, far less of an uproar than in the states.

While Stephen Fry is awesome and a giant, I think many here would have come up with a similar answer.I'd say for anyone who has done any debating atheism, it's pretty standard. It's just that thoughtful atheists aren't often asked their opinion about such matters on TV
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Psalm 14, KJV revised edition

Yeah, I would have said something very similar for sure. Anyone who isn't in an abusive relationship with the Yahweh character can most likely see how blatantly evil he would be, if he were real.

On another forum, the reaction to the video was basically What a naive perception of god.

He's so much more evil than you can imagine?

Naive perception? Huh. In what way?

It is not a religious forum, precisely, though there are religious sub-forums. Some of the people who post in the forums can be so much more ridiculously ignorant than the theists I have encountered here, and I have grown tired of even responding to their tripe.

If you ever want to have a go at them:
