Uh, after going through the whole thread and seeing those pictures of you, I have to say no, you're not doing that.
This isn't rocket surgery. Do the following and you'll feel better about yourself:
1. Get a haircut. From a barber shop, not a salon or a gay friend.
2. Shave.
3. Dress like a man.
4. Go to the gym.
5. Eat mostly meat, fish, eggs, and vegetables.
6. Stop whining like a girl. ^

Even the dumbest simpleton in the mental health community knows that the approach is as important as the message, and using words that imply that someone's problems are for not conforming to some archaic stereotype is Dr. Phil level stupid. As you believe those same people would give a dog a diagnosis of depression, I don't really care what they think about wording.

I'm going by your tag line.

I don't know how to initiate conversation with others; I wasn't raised in an environment that was what I would call constructive towards building social skills. I'm not a participant in society; I'm an observer of it. I don't know what to do with people. I can interact with people....if they come to me. It's not a matter of confidence, it's a matter of competence. I'm not socially competent. I can listen better than almost anyone. But when it comes to talking, I have no idea what to do. It's not about what people think. It's about whether or not the person you're trying to help is going to actually absorb the message and act upon what you're trying to tell them. You see, the point of giving people advice is to help them, not get your smug jabs in.
By saying you don't care how the message is worded, you are saying that you don't care if the person is truly going to take your advice. If you don't care if the person takes your advice, you're only talking to them for selfish reasons and should just shut the fuck up.

So, based on a four word title on the profile of a forum you've extrapolated my entire approach to mental health? Oh, right....

Different people respond to different approaches. Note that I first tried a low-key approach, just suggesting that he model his behavior on well-adjusted people. Only when he said he had tried that did I ratchet things up. Face it, he's not modeling healthy behavior by dressing in black and hanging out in cemeteries.

Yeah, that and the fact that there are many people on this forum who pay lip service to other approaches but are mostly in favor of drugs. I don't recall if you specifically are one of them, but the tag line makes it an easy guess on my part.

I have to admit. I feel better, thanks to Alpha Male.

Addicted to drugs for fifteen years, eh? Pray tell, what drug was it?
Caffeine? Porn? Video games? Steroids? Cigarettes?

FWIW, tobacco is a harder habit to kick than cocaine. Just sayin'.

That it is. Not as destructive, though. Well...not as IMMEDIATELY destructive, anyway.

The guy himself is actually a goth. Probably a bad idea, using satire in an attempt to make a serious point...unless, of course, you don't want to be taken seriously. Which wouldn't surprise me.
