They did not receive the gifts until Jesus was about two years old. I've tried to get people here to watch a DVD on this, guess they're afraid it might be to convincing.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

To convincing what?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Well, G-C, the you have to shitcan your boy "Luke" because according to that particular pile of shit:
Quote:21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called Jesus, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
22 And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;
Luke 2
So, since "purification" for giving birth to a male child being 33 days...(half what it was for giving birth to a girl...fuck them jews) that means that a mere 2 months after the alleged blessed event your godboy wasn't in "Bethlehem." Of course, "Luke" doesn't know fuckall about Herod the Great (who was dead when "Luke" set his tale) or any wise-men so I guess he didn't give a rat's ass about that little plot glitch.

Contrary to popular belief, Jesus was NOT a carpenter. This is one of the many, many errors people make regarding the NT.
As we can clearly see from John 11:35, Jesus was a cleaner:
'Jesus swept.'

According to what I understand Jesus was a "teckton", which translates literally to "builder". If one was to translate the bible literally, he couldn't say that Jesus was a carpenter for sure, although he could have been. The idea that he was a carpenter came from writings of some of the early church fathers, and is therefore part of christian tradition. I'm not aware of any other bible verses which would lead to the conclusion that he was specifically a carpenter. Of course, the scholars who were involved in the development of the numerous english translations are more educated in this matter than I am. To me it doesn't matter.

How do you know that you can trust anything in the bible? Perhaps the translators made other mistakes.

Paul's Epistle to The Peloponnesians 3:22 -
And the Lord did enter Him into the workshop, and there builded him divers works of wood including (but not necessarily limited to) ashtrays, whatnot shelves, and little wooden plaques bearing the inscription, 'My Parents Went Them Unto Egypt, And All I Gotteth Was This Lousy Plaque.' And Mary his mother came and looked upon the works and sighed, 'You could have been a doctor.'
I hope this helps.

The scriptures show the way that leads to salvation and that way is stated very clearly. I don't know if God intended every verse in the bible to be easily comprehended or to be studied throughout one's lifetime. We probably will not fully understand all scripture until we are with God. The Holy Spirit, who is our counselor, guides us to the truth that God wants to reveal to us.

The bible god is all powerful and all knowing. According to your beliefs, we all play by his rules or suffer some kind of horrible fate in the afterlife. Yet, bible god didn't think it important enough that the book which were supposed to guide his people wasn't one hundred percent accurate? How do you know that the mistakes in your bible are small ones, maybe the path they describe to salvation is incorrect
