I'm with you there, but what I find particularly fascinating is the studies that have been done on how that mythic crap affects the minds of children who are forced to engage with it. They have a harder time distinguishing between fantasy and reality, in that they'll more often peg a fictional story as true, merely by dint of having been indoctrinated to believe that magic is totally a real thing. The boundaries of their perception of the world are wider than those of children raised normally- who have no trouble at all distinguishing what's real from what's not in the same studies- and so they're more willing to accept obviously untrue things as true, because they simply don't understand that magic isn't a thing.

Curious, menstruation was clearly damn important to God back in the day, and current era christers pretty much ignore it.

Even a relatively minor acknowledgement of God's word, like having women on the rag sit in the back of the church, doesn't seem to be very prominent in even strict fundie or evangelical churches.

Is it that outre to offer God a little consideration when Aunt Flo stops by for a visit ???

Esq: Yes I've heard this before too, yet more potential harm from religion. It makes sense, being forced to accept the absurd as fact is going to mess up your bullshit compass.

It also explains some of my in-laws. Much as I think my roommate, Luckie's cousin, is a great guy, I did have to spend a portion of last night hearing about "vibrational frequencies" with healing properties in ancient musical instruments. Tongue

I have an ME support group, I've been unable to see them for a while now, but I have trouble fitting in. They are very nice people, but they're all into crystal this and psychic that and blah blah blah... What can I say?

I suppose that their boundaries are pretty much non-existent rather than wider?

Agreed, I feel a petition to Cameron coming on. He states his belief in god happily enough, lets fight to get some disposable seat covers in parliament where the women MP's sit.

Didn't believe it at first, but it is real.
When they looked at the blueprints- was the room real dark?
