ISIS is not a assault on Christianty nor on America. ISIS is an assault on EVERYONE and EVERYTHING, that is not with them.
It does not matter if you are muslim, christian, jew, buddist or atheist, or where you come from. They will kill everyone who does not stand behind them (in a burqa). They kill a lot of innocent people, and being upset just because there were also Americans among them is hypocrisy. After all, if an innocent child or adult is killed, does it's nationality really matter?

Apparently, he failed to negotiate with terrorists to ransom american citizens... That's sort of common policy, seeing as some 25% of ISIS income is in the form of ransoms from countries or families which are willing to pay... curiously, it seems, most of those are from "fellow" middle-eastern nations[1].

Why is it standard practice not to negotiate with terrorists? If you do, you'll give them an incentive to actively kidnap your citizens. And more terrorists will crop up everywhere someone senses they're close to someone they know will be ransomed.
