Best geocentrism argument EVAR!

Quote:A Saudi Arabian cleric has claimed that the Earth does not orbit the sun and is in fact stationary, making the opposite true.

Sheikh Bandar al-Khaibari stunned students at a university in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday by telling them the Earth is “stationary and does not move”, Al Arabiya reported.

A video of the Muslim cleric’s lecture showed him using a cup of water in an attempt to debunk the theory that the world rotates as it orbits the sun.

“Focus with me, this is Earth;” he said, holding the cup.

“If you say that it rotates, if we leave Sharjah airport (in the UAE) on an international flight to China, the earth is rotating, right?

“So if the plane stops still on air, wouldn't China be coming towards it? True or not?”

OOOOOO, checkMATE atheists!

The only way to express my feelings on this is through memes...

Next on Crazy Motherfuckers: why it's demons and not germs that cause disease.

In other news: the Earth is flat.

It was depressingly easy to find this. Undecided

I'd be more impressed if he just said "the quran says the earth is flat and the sun orbits it, therefore I believe it", instead of trying to blind us with his stupidity.

Sadly, he's not the only one.

If you think about it seriously though, in terms of relativity theory, it's not all that easy to get a clear grasp of what revolves around what and where the precise distinction lies. The point that is easier to make seems to be that the same general physics criteria that you would have to use to make earth the center can be applied to any other place in the cosmos.

I will offer this person who, at 11:10 into his seminar, claims that the layman can't prove the world is round and has to rely on the 'say-so' of scientists because they haven't been into space. And apparently even videos and photographs are merely 'testimony' because apparently if scientists were paid to agree that the world is a triangle then would be no way to prove otherwise. I suggest all Muhammadans stay up one night to watch a Lunar eclipse.

He's had extended encounters with several atheist luminaries and bloggers

It's hard to believe that there are people who have the propensity to be even more obnoxious and deceitful than Hamza! His conversation with P. Z. Myers was a good laugh. Hamza uses lots of big words to try and intimidate people and throws a tantrum when people aren't intimidated by him.

For the benefit of those who don't know, this is what Hamza typically says to his followers when he's conversing with a non-believer or afterwards on his website or in a video:
"Quickly my lackeys, cover your ears and make the la-la sound! Or rather the Allah sound. Takbir! Quickly, before you hear any valid refutation(s) to my argument(s)! I need your money to sustain my lavish lifestyle as I don't have the intelligence to obtain a proper job! And, before I forget, Victim Cards at the ready! We can't have those mean old Atheists expose us! Remember, we'd rather not be put into any uncomfortable situations by having to address any controversial issues relating to our religion!"

Come to think of it, aren't all religious apologists like that to one extend or another?
