The commediene is Diane Morgan and she does a whole series of these in Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe TV program. And interviews as well about TV programs. She's definitely the highlight for us.

Does Stimbo speak like that?
What about our accents?
Do you Brits cringe when we talk?
Didn't mean to get too far off topic but I'm curious.

We actually have threads for this already, search "accent tag".

It is very rare that Americans can do a reasonable English accent. Only the women who did Brigitte Jones nailed it.
Everyone else seems to do 1930s Cockney or Aristocrat, badly. I don't get what they find so hard.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.

Bonus points for not referring to it as a British accent.

I gather it's a Northern accent, so no.

I've often asked myself the same question.

Depends on what you're saying. But yes.

Yes you are, aren't you?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Richard Dreyfuss played a totally convincing englishman in Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead. You have to balance it with Dick Van Dyke's portrayal as the Cockney Strangler in Mary Poppins, of course.

Um .. she isn't the only one. Can an Englishman understand a Scot? (How about another Scot?)
