Insightful English documentary threatens to undermine godless evolution 'science'

For some unfathomable reason, I'm not surprised.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Maybe, but I grew up in the Rockies, and I think that's what I still sound like. Not that there's much difference between the Northwest and the Mountain West when it comes to accents. From The West Coast all the way to the Great Lakes, Americans all sound pretty much the same: Midwestern.

Oh, I dunno - I can definitely tell the difference between SoCal and Cheesehead. :p

"monkey ladies-in-waiting" Big Grin

I'm Canadian, living in the U.S. (sort of Yankanuck?) and I can definitely hear the differences among accents within the U.K. and Commonwealth countries. I can even locate them some of the time.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

I can't tell the difference between accents unless people really speak up. Most people in the UK and former UK don't seem to have a good handle on standard american english. Not their fault really. (I'm pretty sure "Scottish" is a synonym for gibberish, isn't it?)

If you think Scottish is weird you should try reading something in Welsh.

It was very good, and a bit funny.
I like the childlikeness projected by the woman and I love the English accent.
Does Stimbo speak like that?
What about our accents?
Do you Brits cringe when we talk?
Didn't mean to get too far off topic but I'm curious.

That's a northern accent. Sounds yorkshire to me but it could be lancashire or manchester too. It's actually fairly close to what my accent does sound like.
I cringe when I hear some American accents, but for some reason even though I live in England I cringe at our words for sex and sexual body parts.
Bum willy shag arse for example.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

The first video you provided (about U.K. accents) misses out Birmingham for some reason. Seems a bit unfair to me. But I'm from the South East region myself, Kent in fact, so everywhere else seems so far away from me (who knows, maybe if I decide to join my local skeptics group, a monthly meet-up in a pub I think, I'll see you there). I suppose it's because I have some relatives who live in the Birmingham area so I feel sorry for them for being left out!
