Boko Haram has pledged allegiance to IS. This is giving me chills. Can anyone set my mind at ease on this one?
I don't worry overmuch about IS. To put it bluntly, IS lacks the ascetic purity needed to sustain itself much past its initial flush of success. IS is much more like a violent over ambitious drug cartel that relies on perks it pays to its motley collection of foot solders. I don't think IS would have anything like the staying power of Al Qaeda.
