Another natural misfire in your brain when you are asleep is when you fall asleep with the TV on, you start dreaming about the adds or the shows but your brain isn't replicating anything real that is actually on the tv, at least not visually, and you gap fill that dream even with extra characters that don't fit in with what your brain is responding to on the TV.

"Escape From Witch Mountain". I always found myself trying to escape from the mountain with the main characters but always different. I would wake up scared and it felt intense. Yes, I've had that a lot. Mostly as a child, but even now it happens sometimes. I also occasionally hear voices when I think I'm fully lucid, but I realize I wasn't quite fully awake.

My brain likes to fuck with me.

Not when I woke up, but I had the "seeing dead people" "experience" when I was a kid, 3 times. My dead grandmother, my dead father and my still living mother. My eyes were open but I could not move and they were standing at the foot of my bed. Not in realty, I know that now.

Small percentage is right. Out of 2060 interviewed, only 2 cardiac arrest patients had such recall, and only one of those two was verified for accuracy.

Correction. 140 were interviewed. That's 1.4%.

Both were contacted for further in-depth interviews to verify their experiences against documented CA events. One was unable to follow up due to ill health. The other, a 57 year old man described the perception of observing events from the top corner of the room and continued to experience a sensation of looking down from above. He accurately described people, sounds, and activities from his resuscitation.

So, ultimately only one patient was verified to have accurate recall.

I'm not, while "technically" we "don't know". Our macro medicine is pointing to the safest bet, "You" are merely your brain in motion. It is really a bad idea to treat "you" as separate than your brain" It is a process, combined with fuel/material in a specific structure/and motion.

I think you may need to re-read my post. I'm not disagreeing with you. My description is a flowery one of oblivion.

Ocham's razor basically says when you have competing claims trying to fill in a gap, the one with the least superfluous or no baggage is your most likely answer. And that is one of the core principles of modern science today. When you sit up an experiment you don't over complicate the data, formula, or control groups or methodology. Keep it as simple as possible.

Trying to separate you from your brain begs more questions than it would solve. Our consciousness is an outcome of those factors mentioned, those are specific in size and arrangement. Take those things away, the process cannot function.

Again, I don't disagree. I would only say that there is a difference between discussing what we know or even what seems most likely given the information we have vs. opening the field to speculation, so long as it is clearly labeled as such.

Not ruling out future discoveries by pointing at the best bet even with what we don't currently know.

Again you don't cling to everything about the past just because we don't know everything. You best bet still has to go through the riggers of data and method. It is not a given, no, but we don't have to conclude a unicorn is our brain.
