Quite literally, since it's similar to the Mod fashion. Only, back in the 60ies an actual statement went with the outfit. Today it's nothing but a look.

RE: Is she for real?
This did make me laugh. That she thinks the contestant is copying her husband's "look" is laughable. That she goes on about originality and artistry just reminds me of the hypocrisy and stupidity of Kanye West when he was ranting on about Beck, a guy who used all the instruments and wrote all his own lyrics for his own songs, whereas the former just uses autotune and says offensive shit. None of these cuntwaffles are original, nor are they fucking artists.

The woman pissed me off though, and I don't even know who she is, what exactly is "original" about her? It's strikingly obvious to anyone looking at her that she's simply going for some shitty Cleopatra look that's been around for, literally ages. Wow. Original. But what about her music? Is that original? Is that artistry? Fucking nope. Just went on youtube. Sounds like every other generic Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande mass produced piece of pop crap. Oooohhh, what originality and artistry to follow the same formula laid out by every other pop singer in history. Do a collaboration with Will.I.Am or LMFAO to really solidify that artistic vibe you're going for. Oh wait, you already have. Every 'artist' like her is the same and is doing the same shit. Producing over-played, commercialised bullcrap for the masses and collaborating with whoever is the current trend. Now that's fair enough but don't sit on your pedestal and act like you're something new and ground-breaking or like you have any authority to talk down to someone and lecture them on originality. Because you clearly have very little of that.

/endrant

Fucking hypocritical scum bags. These people, and these shows in general, just highlight all that is wrong with music IMO.

RuPaul's Drag Race is enough reality television for me. I tend to steer clear of the other stuff.

I still fall for Big Brother. Every. Single. Year.

One of my good Judies has been trying to get me into that, but I've had no time with my dissertation due tomorrow (yes, I'm procrastinating, nearly done though)

This weekend I'll have a marathon if I'm not out celebrating haha
