RE: Why I don't believe in parallel universes

I think this is mostly a science/pseudoscience demarcation issue. For now I consider such notions pseudoscience, but in a very precise way and should not be taken to mean I am lumping MWI with astrology, eugenics, cold fusion, psychoanalysis and alchemy. MWI is of course grounded in science, but is extremely speculative. There's nothing wrong with this, but I hesitate to label it science.
I stressed for now above to indicate that it may be possible in the future to refine, validate or falsify MWI and similar theories, but the fact that it's not falsifiable is why I consider it a fine demarcation issue, a la Popper.

Erm.... I don't think the variety between universes is quite so radical that it defies logic

Except in universes where the differences are that radical.

But there would be universes where while that might apparently be true, it is nevertheless false, and vice versa.
And then there is a universe full of fish podiums . . .

Hey, Alex, sorry to bug you, but could you answer my question? I'm actually curious as to see what you think exactly about this as a physicist.

Here we have a classic case of the arrogance of the atheist.
Just because you can't think of a way that a universe could exist without logical absolutes....
I may not be able to conceive of an inconceivable concept, but I can conceive of the concept of an inconceivable concept.
After all, isn't logic just a distillation, the result of every observation ever made? What about the observations never made? Observer ex-nihilo.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat?

I don't think it's a problem of daring to conceive of one thing or another, it's rather a problem of statements becoming meaningless if you throw logic out of the window. For instance, what does existing still mean for something that defies logic?

What if there was no such thing as a hypothetical question ??
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
