New Testament arguments

New Testament arguments
Hey fellow human peoples, so I need a little help here. I'm trying to form a relatively air tight stance on the illogical inconsistencies of the new testament in the event that all hell breaks loose and I find myself arguing against a christian who somehow circumvents the ridiculousness of the old testament and is able to stand on the new testament by itself.
Now I know there is a plethora of factual contradictions in the first four books themselves which you'd think would be enough, but I need something more than a basic fact check to debate this. I need a philosophical/theological/moral point to make like you can do so easily with the old testament.
Does anyone know if Jesus ate babies, for instance, or liked The Last Airbender movie?

One would think the entire Jesus tale would be more than sufficient. It's a "sacrifice" without any true loss, perpetrated by god against himself in order to undo something he really should've had the power to undo without needing a blood sacrifice.

The entire underpinning of the religion is based on nonsensical crap. It should be easy enough to exploit using logic.

God sacrifices himself to himself so he can forgave us because of a dirt man and an rib women that were naughty and ate a bad piece of fruit.
Yeah pretty ridiculous.

It is nonsensical crap until you go before Anselm of Canterbury and his "Cur Deus Homo." He was the one who first proposed the whole notion of "substituitionary atonement theory" using logic considered impeccable at the time.

No, dumbass. Something dying (except not really, because that "something" is allegedly immortal, rendering the gesture worthless and the whole thing a charade, like paying a debt with "Monopoly" money), so that you're free from responsibility for events you've had no part in, because they happened thousands of years before you were born. I think someone needs to look up the definition of "immortal".

You're right you had no part in the initial event, but it still affects you, unless you claim never to have sinned.
(by the way, you pay debts with monopoly money (fiat currency) every day...)

It's not a child's fault that he is born with a genetic defect, but he will suffer the symptoms all the same, the "cure" is what it is, no way around it.

Let's see...

Jesus advocates thoughtcrime.

Depending on the interpretation, he may or may not advocate eternal punishment for finite crimes.

He mad a blood "sacrifice" in order to give you a chance to save yourself from what he would do to you otherwise, because he designed the system that way.

While not explicitly lined out in the New Testament, most Christians believe in the trinity, and it is simply an absurd concept.

No matter how lovey-dovey people think Jesus is, he's still the same God of the OT that ordered rape, genocide, and infanticide.

Jesus/God decides the fate of your soul not on whether you were a good person, but if you properly believe in him.

That's what I've got for now...

Yeah, good luck with that here. These clows have been doing their best to provide such an air tight arguement for the last 3 years now, and can't quite seem to close the deal. However you may be able to help them shore up their OT arguements.
