I'm really loving Audible.com! All five "Alcatraz" audio books and "Oathbringer" (Stormilight Archives book 3) by Brandon Sanderson for about $36. Retail for the same audio books is a little over $160.

Hey, CM, did you ever finish the John Cleaver series?

I've got that one on my long list. I've read almost everything he teamed up with Lincoln Child on. Should I move his solo stuff to the short list?
Right now, I'm reading (listening) The Expanse series. SyFy has done a comendable job (at least so far) adapting to television. Very good political thriller/sci-fi jaunt.

Yes, I thought it was enjoyable. I'd recommend it.
I should reread/relisten-to it, but I'm not in a very horror-novel place right now, even though I'd barely classify it as horror, or even YA horror.

I'm currently juggling three books: Nabokov's Despair (which adequately expresses my feelings of inadequacy whenever I encounter his glorious prose); a re-reading of The Bible Unearthed (if only more Christians would read this book!); and Tony Salvitti's Black Dragon Kung Fu (a useful -- but badly written -- book about such things as hand conditioning, dragon claw development, and iron body training).

Haven't read the Gideon books yet. Are they really that bad?

Stranger Than Fanfiction: 6/10
Personally, I really enjoyed it. But you have to be a social-media-addicted teenager to understand some of what went on, as it uses a lot of modern terminology, and has the mindset of a kid who reads fanfiction on tumblr all day. I can certainly see how it may feel way too PC for some people, however, for me, a 19 year old who spends her days on the internet, it was a fun read.
