I graduated in '93. Clinton was down sizing the military (shutting the Cold War bases down) my cousin was frank, he told me I would not make good officer material, which meant infantry, and at the time their was no future in it. He told me the best I could hope for was to sign up and train as a mechanic which paid crap, and even then the way Clinton was cutting the budget meant the future was uncertain.
