Pay attention, christians, this is what persecution for beliefs looks like.
It's just so infinitely sad that there actually are people willing to kill another human being in the name of something completely imaginary and who still call themselves a religion of peace. This kind of thing just does not belong in the 21st century. It's absurd. I can't imagine what the family must be going through. 
Oh, they can see that persecution in other countries. It's just that some want us to believe they're being persecuted in America too.

Outside that OUR SPECIES needs to take any aggression physically as war on civility, not to be used as a billboard to promote one label. There is no "virtue of the oppressed", meaning humans evolved to know what pain is like, but when we get on top we use our prior pain to ignore that pain is not a patent owned by a label but in our entire species. If we forget we are the same species long term, we go from the oppressed to the oppressor. 
I think the singling out of Christians was only in response to the Christians who say they are persecuted because church/state type of stuff. I don't think it was in general "only Christians" are supposed to pay attention. That is the intent I read anyway.

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of cussing and blasphemy in response to assholes who use violence to make a point. But I am no fan of ANYONE murdering someone else merely because they exist or offend you.l

I probably should've been more specific as to what I meant. I was referring to the constant complaints from christians in mostly christian countries who insist that they are being targeted for their religious beliefs by such things as the legalisation of same-sex marriage, for example. I certainly agree with you, Brian, a murder is a murder and it's a horrible thing. I was just stating that I can't comprehend how someone can commit such an atrocity in the name of their religion. It's always hard to believe someone could do such a thing, but I find it especially hard to grasp when it happens because of personal beliefs.
