A Fifth Dimension?

A Fifth Dimension?
Hey,

Just wondering if anyone else out there does not necessarily believe in God, but believes in a fifth dimension beyond 3d space and the fourth dimension... I have schizophrenia and constantly hear voices coming from the sun, celing fans, etc... and believe that it is aliens or something from another dimension... My therapist assures me that it is just what is hardwired in the back of my brain, but I think it's something more... What do you guys think?! Am I still an Atheist if I believe in higher dimensions?

Thanks,

Fred

Sure. I would guess most string theorists are atheists and they believe (if you could call it that) in ten dimensions. As to aliens in those dimensions though...

Atheists can be crazy too so have fun talking to your ceiling fan.

Have someone else ask you a random question which you don't know the answer to, then ask the same to your 5th dimensional friend, if he/she/it can answer correctly, there is some more investigation needed, else if it only knows what you already know, then it is all in your brain.

PS: As long as you don't believe in god you are technically an atheist. Also remember, we are humans too (despite what the religious loons claim), hence we reserve the right to have our share or fantasies Tongue

All being an atheist means is that you don't believe in god. Every other belief is still on the table.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I wrote my phd thesis about 5d theories. It's a complicated mess. But it sure as Higgs ain't got nothing to do with God.

Do I believe they exist? No idea, have to remain completely agnostic. But I find it at least plausible. But they are not a different place where aliens live. If aliens really talked to you, them doing it from a higher dimensional space seems like a needless complication

Hello, welcome Smile Sorry to hear about all those troubling things Sad They sound very much like symptoms of the schizophrenia and nothing more.

What if the part of the brain that asks the question doesn't know, but the part being asked knows the answer? We hide stuff from ourselves all over our brain, even if we have no disorder. Like sometimes we don't let ourselves know where we put our keys.

Sometimes I hear voices from the fifth dimension...particularly when the moon is in the seventh house and Jupiter aligns with Mars...
