RE: i believe
If you are willing to accept DNA as evidence if you sat on a jury in a murder trial then you do not get to cherry pick what science says about evolution. EVOLUTION is as much a scientific fact as gravity.

Adenine, Thymine, Cytosine and Guanine. DNA prove evolution.

Now if you can look at a picture of a tiger and a domestic house cat and know that CAT is used to describe both, you don't get to cherry pick that, accept those as being related then claim that humans did not share ancestors with other primates.

Not accepting evolution now makes you look ignorant and silly. It would be the same if you stupidly said the earth was flat.

RE: i believe
I still have problems with evolution that stop me from believing in it, just as atheists have problems with religion.

Death is the end of what?

Your mind?  You mind is a pattern of mass neural activity by billions of cells, each of which die out and get replaced by new cells that don't retain the information the same way the originals did. The C4RM5 of 7 years ago is completely dead and his mind of seven years ago has been replaced with a cheap vcr version that must be corrected and "recolored" to make sense to you today. Lots of stuff gets completely lost, like the image of your favorite shoes when you we seven years old, or some other thing that you've not had to reconstruct in your mind many times over the years. Your mind dies all the time, slowly for all of us living, faster when you have diseases such as Alzheimer's and quickly when we get hit by a bus. They is no one single repository of the mind of C4RM5 to copy over to a soul and store in heaven, it is broken up as a pattern in the sea of billions of living cells, each with a tiny bit of a part.

Now, don't think I am a big meanie here. Being blunt to you is merely saying you got it wrong. It really is ok to accept reality as it is, nothing horrible will happen to you, you can still live life and find happiness without filling it in with the god of the gaps argument.

Yes we do have a problem with religion the same way you would have a problem if someone claimed the ocean god Poseidon caused hurricanes or Thor caused lightening. Those claims are simply not true.

RE: i believe
If evolution is so perfect explain how ancient animals would have survived if they only had part of an eye. You need a whole eye to see.

RE: i believe
Who says evolution is perfect? Evolution is slow, inefficient, unguided, error-filled, and just plain strange.

And if you think that something evolved with "a part of an eye" into something with "a whole eye" then you have absolutely, utterly, and completely zero understanding of evolution, at all.

EDIT: Back to the topic at hand though...

I disagree with the OP as well. I don't think that people who believe in God are 'weak'.

RE: i believe
So what you are saying is animals popped into existance with a formed eye

RE: i believe
Again, you demonstrate an utter ignorance of evolution if you think that's what evolution is.

Okay, you got me, I'm completely ignorant.

RE: i believe
Then stop making assertions or implications about what evolution is, hm?

If you're completely ignorant on a topic, don't try to bullshit it.
