RE: Let's ALL block internet ads together!
I can't stand the ads, if i am trying to read a page I don't want ads getting in the way and distracting me. for the same reason I never watch live tv anymore, I record it and fast forward through the crap.

As Aractus said, uBlock is more memory efficient, but also AdBlock Plus has a whitelist which advertisers can pay to get on, so it's not exactly the best AdBlocker out there.

Google's Google Contributor just goes to show that Google is majorly out-of-touch with their consumers. For $10 per month you can see 25-50% less Google ads. For $2 per month you get only 5-15% less Google ads; and the ads that are removed are only replaced with other messages anyway, they're not removed from their page along with their occupied space. They really just don't get it.

Here's a pretty shocking picture:

Apparently Google is getting USD $45 revenue per user per quarter. We're in 2015 now, it could even be higher. That's $180 per year that they get in revenue per user. And I suspect removing the "product search" feature in May 2012 and replacing it with only "sponsored links" has a lot to do with that. Do note that figure includes all Google's revenue, not just ads (but I'd assume it's mostly from ads).

Maximising revenue is all they care about. They have a monopoly.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke
