I think he was referring to Robert E Lee.

Your biblical references against homosexuality have caused me so much emotional distress that I will take away your livelihood and an Oregon judge will impose damages of $135,000 on you.
Sick fucks.

God just told me the check's in the mail. He said to expect it before this generation passes.
... yet Christians are the ones being persecuted.

Yes because homosexuality is the only "deathworthy" crime the bible mentions. They love just picking this one particular sin out.
Also I find that even when someone who is not religious is homophobic, it still comes from the inherent culture around them. It's a legacy of religion, like a psychological imprint that lingers even after the religion dies. It's also why misogyny still exists in the West despite religion losing it's grip. We inherit these mindsets from religion. Also I disagree with the idea that pre-Christian society was homophobic, despite the need to procreate. In cultures across every region of the world, you find a general tolerance and passiveness about homosexuality before The Abrahamic religions appear on the scene. The Greeks, Romans, Vikings, Celts, Egyptians, Middle Eastern cultures, East Asian cultures, pre-Columbian American cultures, all these people accepted it before the Bible was thumped over their heads. There's more than enough straight people to procreate to make up for the relatively small amount of gay people, and there always has been.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie Quote:Lee says he sees nothing wrong with the sign and was just quoting Leviticus 20:13, a scripture in the Bible. These assholes have no balls! They feel so compelled to let everyone know how they feel on their dumbass billboard, but when asked about it, the finger always gets pointed back to god. "That's what god said, it wasn't me." The fact they have to point their finger at god all the time means they must know at some level what they're saying is wrong. Take responsibility for what you say, or shut the hell up you bigoted pussies!
Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.' -Isaac Asimov-

Yep just like gang minions the leader gets them to do the dirty work. "Just following orders". How sick of this God to pit you against other humans instead of taking that beef up with them directly. The worst part is that there is no god causing this to claim this, the sick part is people still believe in this garbage. My dad is an atheist and he justifies it with biology, procreation and "nature". His "justification" makes no sense. One often does things to prevent procreation (i.e., birth control), and also one often does things that are not, in themselves, helpful for procreation (e.g., kissing mouth to mouth). As for nature, many animal species engage in homosexual acts, so it is a very natural thing to do. My guess is, your father retained his homophobia from earlier religious belief, but since I do not know your father, that is merely a guess. His reasoning, though, is the purest bullshit, just like one hears from religious fanatics who attempt to justify their prejudices, which is why I suspect that that is the source of your father's "reasoning" on this subject.
