I'm in brown slacks, an olive green Under Armour performance tee, and am listening to WWOZ, New Orleans (some female cover of "This Little Light").

Not at my best form.

I'm checkered shirt guy.

That was back when I was into moshing and I hung around with a right bunch of stoners.

I still go back to that club a lot, but I don't shave my head in a mohawk or wear some faggy earing anymore haha.

Like the asthetics of Gothic stuff. But musically I am anywhere from Orbital to Porcupine Tree

Me? I'm just me.

Right? How come you can't like both?

I like mudding in Jeeps and turning around and dressing like a pin up. And then putting on Ren-Faire clothes. Then blasting Metallica. Then reading a textbook on Botany. Who fucking cares. What I remember about that age of being in "Scenes" is that everyone called you a poseur if you weren't 100% all about that particular scene. Fuck you I have a lot of interests. At 30 I now do whatever the fuck I want.

Amen! Big Grin

As near as I can tell, you can replace the term "scenes" with "clique" in modern parlance and leave absolutely no room for translation error. I've never had much use for cliques.

I don't mind people forming groups or "cliques" - clearly people with the same interests and motives and ideals will form groups. Just don't beat on people for not being 100% one thing. No one is.

I'm probably more Hipster than I'd like to admit hehe

I don't like clique-y people though, there's way too much of it within the gay community. it's just divisive and nasty sometimes, not to mention irrelevant.

To the Trve Metal fanatic, the world is full of poseurs. I think due to my penchant for certain types of *core, I'm already a lost soul to them. So it goes...
