To me, it makes a difference if I sleep an even or odd number of hours...
6 or 8 and I can make it through the day just fine...
5, 7 or 9 and I'm a zombie.

Sometimes I do not know whether it is a good or bad thing that I am an insomniac. I consider it bad in a way because I feel tired all the time. But the good part about it is that I am usually unable to find sleep, so I get to spend more time doing activities.
If I was an insomniac, I'd spend all that time on the interwebs... Oh wait nvm, I already do that
Yeah, I am guilty of that.

Either the surgery, chemo or radiation he received screwed up his pineal gland. His melatonin production is erratic at best, and his ciradian rhythm is practically non existent. It isn't unusual for him to be up 24 to 36 hours straight a couple or three times a week with hard crashes in between. He has been dealing with it now for going on 40 years, but it is having long term negative consequences to his overall health.

My sympathies, man, that sounds real awful Even short periods of messed up sleep can have impact on life quality, so years dealing with it must be tough (May 5, 2015 at 12:37 pm)popeyespappy Wrote: When my brother was 13 he was diagnosed with a brain stem tumor. Even my diagnosed insomnia doesn't last that long. Sorry to hear that. |
