Some bullying to enrage hearts

RE: Some bullying to enrage hearts
Lucky him there was some stupid douche-bag filming it... and he then released it into the wild.

Real problems are the ones that will be written down in history books 2 or 3 hundred years from now... How the present day economic model crashed and had to be replaced by something else; how islam and christianity went out with a few last blazes of stupid extremist glory... that sort of thing Tongue

Kids will always be kids... some will do nasty things... most won't. On average, they're heartless little beasts, since the first day they enter a day-care, to their last day in college.

Now, let's think a bit... we're talking about 10 teens ganging up... where are they doing that? at school? Where in school is there no adult supervision?
Outside of school? were there already some sparks between the gang and the punching-bag-kid? How did all those kids end up together? Was he just passing by and they surrounded him? Doesn't look like it, huh?

This seems like a good place to post this...

Quote:Being bullied as a child has more damaging consequences than being the victim of abuse or neglect, a new study shows.

Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I get that, between my 11s and 20 years old I walked those dark cobbled stoned ghettos of casal ventoso. Even in such places, never saw so much disregard for the human condition. The law needs to take no action as the social media will make them aware of what they have done.

This just brought back to me something I'd totally forgotten.

This girl decided to bully me, when I was about 10, at school. We were on the school field, and she kept walking up to me and pushing me over. Every time I got up, she pushed me over again. I just took it, like the guy in the video. I've always been on the small and puny side and an easy target. People seem to know I won't fight back.

They hopefully did as I did, spit some blood and moved on. The chain must be broken, perhaps the refuse to use the 'eye for an eye' strategy is a bad one, dunno. I smashed a bully's teeth into his stomach, he broke my glasses, my dad was mad at me and payed the guy's teeth and the one that got fucked was me Sad

And as you say that I recall a similar encounter but it was just one slap. I do remember feeling hamstrung by the many injunctions I'd heard against striking a girl. I think I ran my mouth instead. It stopped and didn't repeat. Sad part was I think I kinda liked her .. until then.

I was once passing by the school-yard's basketball court... I was in 6th grade, so... 11ish... it wasn't closed up, so, as I was passing, a ball came to me, I lifted my arm and sent it back into the court... standard courteous thing and all...
The thing is, this stupid kid who was slightly taller than me and clearly from some troubled neighborhood was running from the court to catch the ball, and as I returned it, the ball landed on his face - slow reflexes on that guy.

He got pissed, I kept walking, he called me names.. I kept walking... he then threw an orange at me and dirtied my backpack.
I turned back, grabbed the guy by the neck and... I can't remember if I said anything... I remember his face slowly turning a darker shade approaching something reminiscent of purple... then I let go... the bell must have rang or something.
All his friends were around there and no one did anything.
I just remember this one other kid telling me not to go the way I was going (I guess, because the purple-face would come after me), but I just kept going as my next class was that way.... and nothing more came of it.

YES, fighting back WORKS! If you know you can pull it.
And I knew I was one of the fastest kids in school, if I needed to pull out quickly! Tongue

It can work.  I was bullied pretty hard from age 7 to 15.  I always fought back, and got my ass kicked a lot (and, I'll add, school did nothing).  It only ended when I very publicly retaliated in a very visible way that humiliated the bully.

I don't want to suggest that responding with violence is the solution, though.
