Yeah, I once heard this stuff about psychics being used by the police. I thought "bullshit!" Of course, wherever I read it (I forget now) it was totally misrepresenting the facts. When I looked into it, I think they did try it once ages ago and the psychic contributed nothing. Unsurprisingly, they made extremely vague statements which were of no use but which they could retrofit almost anything to match. Wow.
I don't believe there are any psychics or any mediums. In fact, I imagined such a test for a medium: "Hi I wonder if you can help me. I've been getting these strange messages from my mother. I think they are from her, it's hard to tell." "Oh yes, I'm sure they are from her." "You are? OK. Why can't I hear them properly? I can only make out a few words hear and there, like 'safe' and 'proud'." "She's telling you she is safe where she is now, and she is proud of you." "Where is she then?" "She's smiling down on you from heaven." "WHAT? Look, isn't this the mobile phone shop? I think my mum's been trying to leave me messages on my phone but they are all garbled.
