I'm not saying this didn't happen, but I spent the better part of the afternoon trying to find another source for this incident without having any luck. At least when it comes to serious networks, papers and magazines. One I found is a Spanish outlet, going by the headlines specialising only in criminalising immigrant and riding the christian persecution train and the second one, quoting the Spanish source, is German with the mission statement "Islamisierung stoppen, Linkstrend stoppen" (Stop Islam, stop the left).

"Stranieri" as you pointed out simply means foreigners without giving them any religious affiliation, which they also point out in the article. A simple act of vandalism, reading the original text.
