As for arguments for/against, the simplest remains the best: until someone produces a god, I consider them made up. I'm good with you believing in one, as long as that doesn't lead you to sacrifice babies or starve your kid or ask that they teach your beliefs in school or make your god's pet peeves into law. But I'm good without one.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Erm, you jumped pretty fast from "creator" to "Jesus" there. Why on earth would you think a story book character just happens to be God?

He was just waiting for the opportunity. If he had a towel on his head it would have been "allah." You know these types are all the same! (June 17, 2015 at 1:03 pm)onmytablet512 Wrote: Mmmmm. All these logical fallacies make my head hurt.

Evidence points to a cummulative chaos in the universe, that may create pockets of what we call 'order'. It was not the glass that was made for the beer, the beer adjusted to the glass.

Jesus raised people from the dead, walked on water, etc. Right, my bad. I can't reference the Bible here. But Roman reports state that He was called the Messiah, which we can take to mean that He did indeed exist and evidently performed wonders for people to start calling Him Messiah and to later go through persecution and martyrdom for Him. |
