I see the truth as both objective and subjective. Objective truth is repeatable, provable, factual. Subjective truth is specific to each individual(s), what I perceive as true you may not, therefore no "ultimate truth". As far as the contest goes who are the persons deciding what the "most clear, complete, and accurate explanation of the truth of life is"? ISIS, NAZI, Charlie Manson?
