Oh my heart....

RE: Oh my heart....
Nothing pathetic about that.

Compassion for our fellow creatures is a trait that is missing from far too many people.

But then, I generally prefer animals to people.

I've nursed injured hamsters, so I can completely relate.

Perhaps you are an emotional empath.
I say, it's better to have too many feelings than none at all.

Boru

I had a wind screen shattered by a duck.    I was flying a Cessna 152.    The plane was so slow and lumbering I saw the duck coming and ducked.    The plane was so underpowered it could barely keep itself in the air struggling with the added drag of a broken wind screen afterwards.

I didn't have time to mourn the luckless duck.   I was busy worrying about not ending up as a bug splat on the ground myself.

There have been known to be a few dark ones...

There is nothing wrong with you. More to the point there is something very right with you. My wife and I do this quite frequently. If we can rescue we will. Last Friday a 10 hr trip to rescue an intact male for the breed we raise and train. Two years ago fostered a dog that had been shot. Very concerned that the new "Max" movie will start a "101 dalmatian syndrome".

I can completely understand. The only animal I won't get out for is a skunk. And that's only because I tried once.

I was fostering a Golden retriever who was hit by a car last year. He was also heartworm positive and wasn't strong enough to make it through the treatment. I still miss him. So does Tanner.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Maybe that's why god doesn't love you anymore. God only has the one primate favorite. He wouldn't even give a soul to the others. That's why all animals are going to hell but some christian standards.
