"Kill 'em All" is simply awesome. I've always felt that the production quality on Lightning was inferior, though the music is excellent. I've owned it on vinyl, tape, and CD and it just lacks an edge that's present on KEA and later albums. I think someone in the studio done fucked it up.
Yeah, Four Horsemen is an epic song, though Creeping Death is probably my favorite between the first two albums.

I've got something to say, I raped your mother today and it

Well, yeah, except that's a cover song.

(This post was last modified: June 27, 2015 at 5:05 pm by Alex K.)
Lay thy hand on the neck of thine enemies.
Devour their flesh with thy sword.
Bring down the slain from among thine adversaries.
They shall fall to rise no more.
Tetragrammaton.
Thy wrath inflame my passion.
Tetragrammaton.
Against all sinful flesh.
Let thy wrath consume all of thine enemies.
Scourge them with flames of fire.
Lay thy feet on the pile of those slain by thy mysteries.
We shall be cleansed by their blood.
Thus said the Lord: I am Sabaoth.
Feel my holy wrath.
I am glorified.
I cannot be denied.
I am he who is.
Punishment for wickedness.
I am the one you dread.
You are as good as dead.
There is no God but the one that dies with me.
I have no life but the one I take with me to the grave.
We come into this world alone.
And we will die on our own.
I live.
I die.
Ain Elohim.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

I don't think I like you as much now that you ruined it for me. Thanks.

Yeah, Four Horsemen is an epic song, though Creeping Death is probably my favorite between the first two albums. By production quality do you mean just sound quality? Because with high/medium quality music formats both sound good. I feel like "Kill 'Em All", because it is a début album, is somewhat clumsy and too "fresh" in its organization - It's obvious that Metallica had a lot of musical maturation and experimentation ahead, but for a debut album it's still pretty damn good - I also think it's the most trashy album of all - After "Kill 'Em All", Metallica experimented with ballads and heavy metal but they were never as trashy as in the first album - And even bands like Slayer are arguably more about speed and black/hardcore metal than trash, hence why the labels confuse me.
I think we should create a thread to discuss metal and hard rock.

Did Elvis 'sell out' when he appeared on the Sullivan Show and the camera angles were selected to not show him from the waste down lest Mr. and Mrs. Middle Class America be outraged from his trademark gyrations ??
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

For me it would depend on whether showing provocative gyrations was one of the essential components of Elvis' artistic identity and message. If it's just a gimmick and he's toning it down in some venues while his core artistry remains untouched, I don't think it is selling out.

I think it's a subjective thing. Hard to explain.

Being a musician and still regularly gigging and recording, this concept of selling out has definitely had its day in court with me and my fellow entertainers.
Most of us consider "selling out" only ONE thing ... and one thing ONLY: Changing everything you do and everything you've ever been simply to get signed to a label and/or sell records. With that in mind, artists like Taylor Swift or Hanson or One Direction are NOT sell outs. At no time were they ever writing and performing death metal or gangster rap and then suddenly switching over to mainstream country and pop. Do I listen to them? Hell no! but certainly not because they "sold out". They were creating mainstream music from day one.
You want an example of a sell out: Goo Goo Dolls and Sugar Ray are both excellent examples of bands that COMPLETELY changed everything they were putting out in order to become rich and famous. These bands disgust me and IMO do not have an ounce of credibility.
