Looks like I'm a social outcast on my facebook.

So, the day I deconverted and told everybody I'm an atheist pretty much made things go south. Nobody sees my stuff, nobody supports my activism, even for non-atheist related things, nobody even cares what I have to say. July 2nd, I wrote a status update:
Quote:!!! IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THIS !!!
My friends list is filled up with multiple accounts of the same person, and people who don't want to see anything I post. I know that that's what I said I wanted since my deconversion to atheism, but that was before I realized that all my activist stuff would not have activity on it. (pun intended) I am going to start clearing my friends list. If you care about staying on my friends list, follow these directions:
1) Let me know
2) If you have multiple accounts, pick ONE account you want to stay friends with me with and tell me what it is.
Not a single person responded. Not even my mother, not my sister, not my two relatives who are atheist themselves. The only places I get support are from strangers I don't know, and I have to be in a FB group in order to get that support. Is this normal for someone who is an atheist to barely, if at all, get any support from family/friends? What can I do? Thanks.
If pinkie pie isn't real, then how do you explain the existence of ponies, huh? If ponies are real, then that's proof that Pinkie Pie is real. Checkmate, christians!

To be fair, when I see one of those "if you're still my friend, let me know" posts, I always ignore it; I see it as attention-whoring. Whether you mean it that way or not, I guarantee at least a few of your "friends" have interpreted it as such.
Do you think, maybe, you're just being too sensitive? When you say "nobody sees my stuff" or "nobody supports my activism", how do you know that?

It's Facebook. The land of ignoring everybody else, while simultaneously giving your two-cents.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."
For context, this is the previous verse:
"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

Join an atheist facebook group. Most of my family is to the far right and social issues. I tend to ignore their posting like they do mine. Lately I have been posting support for same sex marriage because I know that the daughter of one of these people is still in the closet about her sexuality. I want to let her see that there are people who support her.

How about you stop looking for validation on Facebook?
Better yet, how about you just avoid Facebook altogether? It's worked for me.

The beauty of facebook, and indeed life, is you get to choose who are your 'friends'.

Have to agree
At the end of the day, keep the people on facebook you actually regularly interact with. I have over 300 Facebook "friends". There are probably only 20 I actually talk to somewhat regularly, and only a further maybe 50 maximum who I care enough to look at anything they post and maybe respond. I need a good purge of all the irrelevance but a whole deleting spree is too big a task in one go haha.
Just delete anyone you don't talk to and/or are really not interested in. Be ruthless! Think "why am I clinging onto this person who means nothing to me?"

You are on the crest of the deconversion wave. Just surf it out and you'll see it will only improve!
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
