I think YouTube's AI needs work.

I think YouTube's AI needs work.
YouTube have a feature that suggests videos based on what you've seen before. This is all fine, until they started putting the reasons why the videos were suggested.

Here are a couple I got:

Suggestion: How To Make a Quick Delicious Healthy Smoothie
Reason: Because you watched "Alex Jones and Evolution"

Suggestion: Woman Kills Son, Self at Gun Range
Reason: Because you watched "No Handshake For You!" (a video where Obama shakes the hand of a police officer but Gordon Brown refuses).

Seriously YouTube...wtf...

I think the title should be "I think YouTube's AI needs work".

The site has become crappier and crappier with every update.

Youtube has been going through some rather annoying changes to their design as well as some technical changes that just make me second guess why people still use that site.

The comments section seems all over the place, hard to follow and not in order.

Just throwing a conspiracy theory out there. Youtube is costing Google money, so by making the site less interesting for simple users like me they hope we will go away.

The comment section has now the most liked comments on top, there is no logic in the comment sections below that, the sidebar is now the bottom bar, they completely messed up my own page, sharing the link is now hidden away instead of right there on the side.

And that is just the layout stuff.

It has become even easier instead of harder to flag a video. Many times the subscriptions page doesn't work. embedded links get "there was an error, please try again later" much more often than they used to.

It's seriously fucked up.

Just watched an alex jones video. That guy is a moron, why does everything have to be a conspiracy. Another man living in fear who needs someone to blame aka the government.
The more questions we ask, the less answers we'll have.

So why not instead design Youtube in a way that will gain them money from it? That seems more sensible to me...

The amount of bandwith needed for a site like YT doesn't make YT profitable. The only way would be to make the users pay for their bandwith, and that would be a surefire way to ruin YT completely.
