Bernie Sanders Has Renewed My Hope

Bernie Sanders Has Renewed My Hope
I have been recently studying a bit about Bernie Sanders and the issues he is concerned about. After reading a couple of articles and watching his speeches and interviews on Youtube, I am now a Bernie Sanders supporter. I now have renewed hope for the future, and the future is worth fighting for.

Ever since the last Presidential and Mid-term Elections I have been quite jaded about politics. I did not even vote and let my registration slip. I felt the Republicans were not trustworthy and the Dems were quite spineless and worthless. I still think the Republicans will try to steal the next elections, but if we keep a keen eye on them and sue them for attempting that when they do, perhaps We The People will have a chance to save our American Republic, despite the fucking Dominionists.

Bernie makes a lot of sense to me when I listen to him. He is gathering a large following. I am now kind of excited to see what happens next.

So what does everyone else think?

Bernie excites me more than Hillary but never forget what Plato said:

Fail to vote and you simply make it easier for one of the republicunt assholes in the klown kar.

I like Bernie but wonder how he would fare in the general election if he did get the nomination. The GOP talking points would practically write themselves, and Americans react to the word "Socialism" like Pavlov's fucking dogs. Sanders would have to be one savvy SOB to effectively counter their canned drivel.

That's how the dems lost the Senate recently, after all.

Yeah, voter turnout is they key. The United States does have the worst voter turn out. Hopefully it will be better in 2016. Will have to wait and see.

Quote:U.S. turnout in 2012 was 53.6%, based on 129.1 million votes cast for president and an estimated voting-age population of just under 241 million people. Among OECD countries, the highest turnout rates were in Belgium (87.2%), Turkey (86.4%) and Sweden (82.6%). Switzerland consistently has the lowest turnout, with just 40% of the voting-age population casting ballots in the 2011 federal legislative elections, the most recent.

It's kind of hard to see value in voting when your government works as an oligarchy, instead of a representative republic, but if we don't all stand up and do something it won't get better.

He will have to be pretty savvy to get the nomination.  So I am not too worried about how he would fare in the general election.

I hope we get a chance to see how he does in the general election.

He's an admitted socialist, but I believe he was the first person to be open about being a socialist, to be elected to senate. I like what I've heard from him too. It may be a tough sell to the American public. Most people in this country believe socialism=satanism=homosexual=revelations, so I'm not too sure if he has a good chance.

Bernie seems at first glance to be an intelligent man with a strong sense of fairness.

He has no chance in American politics.

He is a U.S. Senator. So he has had some success in American politics.

I think his biggest obstacle to becoming President is the Democratic nomination. If he can manage that, then I think he can beat Jeb Bush (who, I predict, will get the Republican nomination).
