I think that some people need religion and no amount of logical thinking is going to change that. It is better that they follow a more gentle, less angry faith that doesn't promote passing laws to limit other people's freedom.
I have heard some arguments that one of the words that Paul used has been incorrectly translated as homosexual when it was really a Greek word that he seems to have made up. Don't ask me if that is true or not but if it helps them accept homosexuals as equals, I am willing not to call them on their dance around those verses.
Online, I onced talked to a female pastor who made a very good job at claiming that the bible doesn't teach that hell is a real place. I wish that I had kept her argument to use on some theists here.
