Indeed we do.  And I am openly atheist without fear.  But it still isn't a popular position by any means.

There is one group of people I do not tell:  my husband's family.  He is deist and they would be very hurt by that let alone my atheism.  I leave the choice of what to tell them to him because they are his.

I also am careful of what I say to people buying from me.  I am an artist and in some ways people buy the artist not just the art. So I am quiet with customers, though if asked, I'd tell the truth.

But none of that compares in scale with being an atheist in a country where it is a crime.  My heart goes out to you.

yeah I understand the social scenario and work hazards you are facing. This world is imperfect as they say. however one of the objectives of me joining this forum is to raise awareness that how hard it is to live with a reality that being an atheist is a major crime in many parts of the world.

Welcome driver82. That has to be rough being in a country that is about 97%-98% muslim. Sorry for the fear of opening your mouth in your country, wanting to discuss your lack of beliefs. I hope you enjoy your time here.
Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.' -Isaac Asimov-

Heya driver, nice to meet you Smile

I really feel for you. I can't imagine how hard it must be to have to pander to people's delusions for your own wellbeing. I totally understand why you have to, and I agree you have no choice until you can hopefully get to a sane country.

Sadly enforcement by violence is going to be the last bastion of religion I feel.

As others have said please be careful, but you can let it all fly here. You're among friends. Supporting people like yourself is one of the main reasons I joined up.

Enjoy the forum Smile

Muslims dont allow anyone to say a word which they think is either apostasy or blasphemy. they even cant understand the notion of free speech in West and keep blaming west for blasphemy.

I want to know what kind of pussy Allah is that they have to silence anyone who may hurt his delicate omnipotent feelings.
