Hypocrite Liberals imposing their beliefs

You and the others are wilfully blind to what I keep saying: I love gays, I love anybody nice to me. I view everyone equal. Its just that I don't condone that samesex marriage as my conscience bothers me. Baking wedding cakes for such marriages *makes me feel guilty* about disobeying my conscience. Disobeying my conscience by baking it can result in bad sexual karma and I don't want to risk it. On the other side, Not baking wedding cakes for gays makes lawsuits and I will have my business ruined and me and my brother will have to pack for India and be poor again. Thus, I want some support for my Liberty of Conscience rights. Its a tricky issue. I came here to vent this issue and get support but no support except for two nice dudes (thanx @homeless nutter)

I would have been glad not to have paid for cake. Even the Pentecostals gave up cardboard tasting cake to go to the bar with us.

Cake is an expensive wedding sideshow tradition. It serves no real purpose and delays people getting to the bar. Fuck wedding cake. My next opportunity is when my grandchildren marry 20+ year from now, but it gives me time to plan. No fucking cake!

Yep, that's how the law works; you can't discriminate over a product you don't sell. There's actually been some legal precedent on that issue fairly recently; a conservative dude wanted to prove that LGBTQ friendly folks were hypocrites, so he went to a bakery that advertises as such and asked them to bake a cake covered in homophobic slurs and insults, expecting that when they refused he could have his whole "aha!" moment. They did refuse, he sued, and he got his case dismissed under the very same logic as I suggested to you: the bakery wasn't in the business of making hate-speech cakes, it wasn't a service they offered to any group, and so they were not discriminating by refusing to bake the cake for this particular christian purpose.

Understanding the law is the first step to keeping on the right side of it; it's not focusing on certain beliefs, just certain practices, and it's motivation agnostic in doing so.
