Pre-Uthman Quran Found in England

Uthman was the third of the Caliphs and one of the (Sunni) Rashidun. He basically said to the Salaf/Sahabah: "F U, I'm taking away all of your Qurans and burning them and you can have my version of the Quran".

Sana's manuscript, Minimalist provided a link. I'll add more later perhaps.

Nice work Exian!

Such a shame the message got entirely lost, and replaced with weird stuff about eating maggots and putting fireworks in your ass.

Yeah, it's hard work plowing through this garbage, but it's worth it.

Why, just today we found out that later editions of the Quran removed the word "didn't" from "I split the moon in half." Revelations indeed!
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

Does the early work say why he picked a kiddy fiddler to be his fake Jesus?

That was a total fabrication of later editors, who, I assume, wanted to diddle kids.

Ah, I see. Yeah, if you make fake Jesus do some horrible shit, it's easier to justify doing it yourself.

Probably why they made him go mental and kill loads of people I expect.

Why... why does anyone worship him again?

Haha Man, I don't know. But if I was in possession of this new discovery, I would be very tempted to do some version of what I did here.

What would they do? Say it shat all over all their favourite stuff. Would they just try and rubbish it, call it a fake? I'd bet they would. I can't imagine them just changing everything based on new information. Not religion's style Tongue

Add some apologetics. They're already comfortable with edits, inaccuracies, and contradictions. They wouldn't blink.

You, of course.

See, here's your problem with that.  In order for your story to be true there would really have to be an "angel" who found a merchant sleeping in a cave and who then imparted what eventually came to be the koran after Mo repeated it to people who were actually literate - in whatever language existed at the time - who then wrote it down.

To that, I ascribe a probability of less than 0.00000000000000000001.  Which is roughly the same level of probability which I ascribe to the Joey Smith story with his "angel" and which I imagine you think is preposterous?  BTW, so you don't feel picked on, I give roughly the same probabilities to jesus, moses, and Romulus and Remus, etc.

As Ehrman has noted speaking about the empty-tomb nonsense:  "Is it more probable that something like this happened than that a miracle happened and Jesus left the tomb to ascend to heaven? Absolutely! From a purely historical point of view, a highly unlikely event is far more probable than a virtually impossible one..."
