Am I Going To Hell?
RE: Am I Going To Hell?

Slimy..

The Catholic church claims a connection with god doesn't it? When the question is posed whether or not atheists are sent to hell we are not asking if catholic lady thinks they should go there or if catholic lady thinks there might be additional outs that they might come across that gives them another chance to convert. No.
The question is put forth to be answered by what has been revealed by god through the catholic church and it's canon scriptures. An honest answer would come from reflection upon what has been written and pronounced with perhaps a caveat or two. A dishonest answer would weasel around the question and ignore the core of the faith to pretend that there is no relevant information on one side or the other.

No but what does bother me is the abuse of reason and a fanaticism that tends to forget the nature of a question it attempts to so vehemently debate and so absolutely decide, pitifully failing to proportion its confidence to the evidence. I'm just glad you are only a victim of a delusion that feels satisfied in passive-aggressive rants rather than the violent invectives so often exhibited by your co-religionists.

If the preponderance of evidence is not enough to say anything definite about the fate of unbelievers, do you realize how unfair this is to us Atheists? We don't know if we are safe in hoping the god of the catholics will just leave us alone. He might torture us and the catholic church isn't being responsible in getting the truth from god because they are unwilling to discuss it with jesus anymore.

Am I doomed if I don't believe or accept jesus or am I ok with just sneering at him and his followers and he won't torture me for eternity in hell?

    No.
Oh come on! That doesn't seem very fair, does it?
Imagine of our court system was like that. J-walkers and serial killers would have the same sentences.
I thought you said god does not grade sin on the sliding scale like we do. Why did you change your mind in the very next paragraph? What the hell does "...the average lemming/atheist who is trying to justify his porn habit," supposed to mean. That is very insulting and fallacious. Try to keep your ad hominem rant about pornography out of the rests of your arguments next time. Thanks! What the bible actually says? When is the last time you stoned a gay person?

You think that because you look at sin and Crime as being the same thing. It's not. Sin is more like a highly infectious disease or better yet Zombie virus who's only cure is repentance or Death. Now with that in Mind Heaven/Creation would be like The last refuge for the non infected people willing to be cured side. Hell are for the infected who have fully turned and those who are incubating the virus and will eventualy turn sometime in eternity future.

Now, if you are in a refuge city like Jerluslem World war Z style, and the Zombie hords wait just out side, do you let ANY infected into your city whether they show signs or not?

God does not grade sin on a sliding scale. That is why I prefaced the bit about being consumed by Hell fire at different intervals according to severity of sin with: "It is my wish" or what ever I said separating what God does from what I would like to have happen.

We had this discussion in your other thread. You don't understand what Christ meant by :Completeing the law. To Complete the law not only keeps the the do's and don't in place it also provides attonement for those who do not follow the law anymore. This means 'righteousness' the quality needed to stand with God for eternity is no longer based on 'morality' but on whether one has been inoculated or not from the Zombie virus.

So if Gaud created everything, but he totally hates sin, then why did he create sin? If he didn't create sin, who did? Did Satan? Did we? If so, why did Gaud create a system where sin could be created? Why did he create a system where ANYTHING could be created by someone other than himself? The capacity for creation isn't necessary for the ability to choose, so Free Will is out.

The simple fact is that your Gaud supposedly created a place of eternal torment to punish people who upset him even once in the smallest of ways, and many of the ways we can upset him have no harm in them other than that he dislikes those actions for some unexplained reason.

When people say, "because you have a debt that needs repaid," or, "because you're guilty of something and need to be absolved," they somehow conveniently forget that, if the rest of their beliefs are correct, then the reason that situation is true is that Gaud created the system knowing it would wind up that way. That means either that he intended for the system to be that way or that he couldn't stop it from being that way (but then went ahead and selfishly created the system anyway because he'd rather have the worshippers and punish the infidels than not create the system and spare all those potential beings from hell).

The bottom line: your god does not love us. He only cares about worship and obedience. He is a worse monster than the worst human Earth has ever produced, because torturing even one person infinitely is a worse crime than torturing billions for thousands of years. It is an infinitely worse crime, in fact. That's the nature of infinity. It is a joy and a relief that your god does not exist because, quite frankly, he is a dick.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

The zombie thing is not a good analogy. In that situation, everyone knows there such things as sins, but in real life, no one does. Also, my non belief in something can not be synonymous with a infection that makes me eat people. I know you want it to be, but it is not.

Definition of wishful thinking: the attribution of reality to what... you know what? I think you have already given a great example of that. Never mind.

What is the purpose of the law then? If no one has to follow them, then are they just there to scare atheists away?

Sin=Choice not free will but choice on whether or not to follow God.. Or rather Sin is anything not in the express word or will God has for us. Meaning If God's will for us is ABC, and if their was no 'sin/choice' All we could ever do is ABC
Like Adam and Eve in the Garden, before the fruit all they did was the ABC God wanted them to do. for them Sin was going beyond the ABC God wanted them to do and eat the forbidden fruit. Once they did they knew of the whole concept of sin.

Quote:If he didn't create sin, who did? Did Satan? Did we? If so, why did Gaud create a system where sin could be created? Sin wasn't created, it was given to us as an opportunity to choose something beyond the will of God. Why? So that those who did/would not want to be with god had the opportunity to separate themselves from Him and the rest of what He has created.

Quote:The simple fact is that your Gaud supposedly created a place of eternal torment to punish people who upset him even once in the smallest of ways, and many of the ways we can upset him have no harm in them other than that he dislikes those actions for some unexplained reason
Actually no. Hell is described as the void, the pit, Death, the oppsite of creation/Life eternal. Hell is the absence creation the destruction of life. It is what creation is not. It was prepared for satan. It is also the tool use to destroy the 'infected'/Those who will not repent of their sin.

Quote:When people say, "because you have a debt that needs repaid," or, "because you're guilty of something and need to be absolved," they somehow conveniently forget that, if the rest of their beliefs are correct, then the reason that situation is true is that Gaud created the system knowing it would wind up that way. The 'system' is perfect the way that it is. Because it is only through the struggle, strife, and hardships created by those who hate God, that 'we' are made to grow and develop spiritually.

I often point out that between the end of creation and the fall of man nothing is said/their is no time line. Why? Because even if a 100 trillion years
went by, nothing of consenquence happened. Because Adam and Eve did not grow or experience Anything new till Sin was introduced. It is very appearent that God did not want to program us like He did the fish and birds that migrate great distances and spawn.
We need to learn through the pains of sin and consenquence for ourselves. Those who are lost to Hell serve a great purpose in that formal education of those who go on.

Quote:The bottom line: your god does not love us.
No not everyone. He however loved us enough to give us an opportunity to seek redemption if we so chose to seek it. Or so says John 3:16
Quote: He only cares about worship and obedience.
If this were remotely true we would not have a way to redeem ourselves continuously.

Quote:He is a worse monster than the worst human Earth has ever produced, because torturing even one person infinitely is a worse crime than torturing billions for thousands of years. You know if you go by what the bible says, The only being sent to Hell for an eternity of torture will be Satan. The rest of the souls that go there, go to die/be consumed. At least according to what Christ thought... Who knows maybe dante was right and JESUS CHRIST is the one who was wrong.

Again, you are infected with 'Sin' and your only real choice in this life is to take the medicine Christ offers that will cure you, so you may live eternally, Or to die. Hell is the death Christ talks about if you do not accept the offer of life He offers.
