Higher IQ's

RE: Higher IQ's
Funny thing - the more often you take IQ tests, the better your score will be. Why? Because all that IQ tests can reliably determine is - how well you take IQ tests.

RE: Higher IQ's
*shrug* Then you're good at taking IQ tests without practicing for them. Seriously, an IQ score is a virtually meaningless number.

Which is surprisingly indicative of how poorly the American education system is being operated.

RE: Higher IQ's
To paraphrase one of the few good quotes from Interstellar, how can it be that it takes two numbers to measure your ass, but only one is supposed to be enough to measure intellectual capabilities. It seems absurd to me that the performance of something as complex and multi faceted as the human mind should be characterizable by one number. And I say that as someone with an IQ of 1** and shoe size 11.5!

As an atheist having higher IQ's is relevant as much as it is that white people score higher on IQ tests or very poor people, score lower. Which is to say, none.

It's all in the girth, actually...

Is there some serious study about that? I highly doubt it.

RE: Higher IQ's
IQ is a culturally-biased measurement as it is. Furthermore it is not useful for its originally intended purpose - that is it is unable to be used as a predictor for success in life. High IQ scores are not associated with higher success in life.

To put it simply, a high or low IQ score doesn't mean anything quantitative.
