I really, really hope Trump wins the nomination.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Exactly! Name me the last president that hasn't met this criteria.

That would be entertaining as hell, if that asshole pulls it off with his attitude, and immoral business practices.

Really? After the horribly racist things he has said? Do you not have empathy for those he has slandered?
I just think it's hilarious watching this man that embodies all the anti-qualities (that we all know are actually the long standing qualities) that the Right has spent a lot of time talking about changing lead the polls for them.
It may be the wake up gong that the right needs, but that's probably wishful thinking.

I hope he loses and runs as a third party candidate. That would weaken the GOP by splitting the GOP vote.

I wasn't clear, but thought it would be understood. I would not actually cast a vote for Trump for President, but have no compunction about registering republican when I move to Florida to vote for him in next year's Florida primary. Consider it a form of agitation to help make sure he's the nominee. What I was clear about, that you chose to ignore, is my specific recognition of his integrity even if you don't like everything or anything that comes from his mouth. A reasonable person would include in everything and anything his blundered immigration remarks.
That's right, blundered. I hate that I'm put in a position of having to defend a guy like Trump, but you insinuating the man is racist when the background and facts regarding his comments are so well known makes you just as informed as those single issue chuckle-heads that go to the polls with abortion on their minds. He fucked up talking about his reading of a magazine article which in turn fucked up it's quoting of an Amnesty International report stating that 60% of all women crossing the border are subject to sexual assault (the magazine Trump referenced quoted 80%). His rejoinder "someone's doing the raping" only makes sense in light of the article and the Amnesty International report. You are of course free to remain stupid and think he was talking about rape in general.
The other reason I am safe in concluding Trump isn't racist is that I'm sure he thinks everyone who doesn't have a billion dollars in the bank is beneath him. Seriously though, don't believe everything you hear. The only reason I know about the magazine and Amnesty International report reference is because I was quite taken aback by Trump's comments; they simply didn't make sense in light of what else I know about the man. This prompted me to do a little discovery instead of just swallowing the 'racist' line.

This.
In 2012, Obama got 65.9 million votes to Romney's 60.9 million.
If it's Clinton vs. Bush, Clinton will win 60 million to 55 million.
If it's Clinton vs. Trump, Clinton will win 75 million to 55 million.
If it's Clinton vs. Anyone vs. Trump, Clinton will win 65 million to 45 million to 10 million.
Now, of course, that's just the popular vote... but could you imagine if Trump managed to carry a few southern states?! How glorious would that be?

Don't worry, my friend. If this be the end, then so shall it be.

I only tuned in briefly while I was waiting for the Daily Show finale to start. There were so many references to Jesus Christ I thought they were actually running for Pope.
